A day with Anne Minto, OBE Group Director, HR Centrica Plc
In its vision to help underprivileged of our country British Gas realised their potential that impelled them to set out on the arduous journey of making education accessible to underprivileged children .The company is today poised to make a difference “committed to creating & supporting programs that brings about sustainable changes through education & use of technology”.

OM Foundation School is one of the invaluable program of British Gas, These pre- primary, primary & secondary level school is the “temples of learning” radiating knowledge& excellence for underprivileged children. Om Foundation School being the philanthropic arm of British Gas, welcomed Ms Anne Minto OBE Group Director HR Centrica Plc, Ms Pam & Jim Devine on March 3rd 2010. They spent three hours at the school campus, listening to & talking to all the 160 children. During her visit she glimpsed through all the classrooms, as guided by Sulekha, a student of VI standard. She was highly impressed by seeing the enthusiasm of the children & their ability to speak English “The girls are brilliant” she expressed.

An interactive session was held where Anne, asked children about their inspiration & they happily responded to her by answering them, some sweets were distributed by her. The entire day was engaging & fun-filled. Sulekha played Casio which was very impressive. The experience at the School was very special. Her comments after the visit were “the time that I spend in the School with the kids make me feel happy. It also reminds us of our responsibility towards the society & the contribution that we need to make as privileged individuals.” Later she interacted with the management & staff at length discussing ways to explore new opportunities to help them lead better lives.
