The experience at the school was very special. The time that i have spend in the school with the kids made me feel very happy. It reminds us of our responsibility towards the society & the contribution that we need to make as previledged individuals. I heartly congratulate the school for their lovely work.

I was delighted to see the smiles on the faces of these children. Desite several disadvantages they seem to take everything in stride & bond wih each other so well. All the credit goes to the teachers who have worked hard to create an amiable environment for the kids.

Thank you so much for allowing me to visit you, your staff and your children last week at the School. It was just fantastic to meet you all and to see the really great progress that you have all made in such a short space of time and, looking at the future plans, it seems as if this is only the start. Thank you again, I really did get a great deal personally out of the visit and - if you will have me - I would love to come back out to see you again on my next visit.

It is hard to believe that I am back in London this morning in the pouring rain after the wonderful sunshine and joyful occasion that yesterday turned out to be.

It was a great pleasure to meet you yesterday personally and I was so honoured to join you all and share in the excitement and sense of a great achievement in providing a school with such great facilities for such disadvantaged children. The morning was clearly an emotional occasion for all of you who have been so closely involved with the project. You can all take such pride in what you have achieved and I know that Peter personally has loved every minute of his involvement with you and the team. What you have set out to achieve was no mean feat and you should all be justly proud of your achievement to date. The future achievement of seeing those children learn and grow will be a delight for everyone.

I am looking forward already to a return visit to see for myself the progress and in the meantime you can be guaranteed that we will continue to support your efforts in whatever way we can as it is a great and special thing that you have all achieved so far. I thought that the children that we met were absolutely wonderful so bright and happy – children here would have much to learn from them.

Very best wishes for the school’s future success.

- Anne Minto, Director HR, Centrica Plc, UK.

I am delighted to share with you that we have taken another giant leap in our mission of pursuing excellence in driving social change with the inauguration of a secondary school in partnership with British Gas and OM Foundation on 25th March 2009. The school was formally inaugurated by Anne Minto – Group Director Human Resources Centrica Plc. (British Gas’ parent company) alongwith our Executive Chairman, Vikram Talwar and President & CEO, Rohit Kapoor.

Based at Hoshiarpur Village, Sector 51 - Noida, India, the secondary school has been funded entirely by British Gas and EXL Service. It was developed as an extension of the existing primary school which was established in 2002 by OM Foundation with the objective of providing free education to the underprivileged children of the society. The secondary school too will continue with this philosophy and provide free education to economically and socially disadvantaged children from the neighboring areas.

The focus and aim of the school is to provide all round development and a challenging education to its students. The infrastructure and faculty are at par with the local premier schools in Noida. It also boasts of a fully equipped computer lab and a library. The mode of instruction is English, though Hindi is spoken as well. Students are instructed in etiquette and social skills, as well as basic hygiene and grooming practices. Several co-curricular and extra-curricular activities like educational tours, art & craft, music & dance, fitness exercises & yoga, etc are also undertaken. Regular health check-ups and growth monitoring is ensured for all the children enrolled.

EXL has always demonstrated its social consciousness vide our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Since the launch of our EPCI program in 2007, we have been able to consistently contribute towards the desired social transformation by adopting sustainable development programs - urban discarded materials redeployment into rural areas alongwith Goonj, supporting street children with Jamghat, supporting treatment of children suffering with Cancer thru Cankids, providing rehabilitation to children of Tihar inmates with Kiran Bedi's India Vision Foundation, Bihar flood relief etc amongst others. This inauguration is a milestone in our efforts to nurture the young, underprivileged generation of the country. Education being the basic right of every individual, we believe that by undertaking this special initiative, we are outlining future opportunities and thereby helping in creating a brighter future for the underprivileged youth.

Please join me in thanking the OM Foundation management for selflessly driving this endeavor; British Gas for supporting this project in a big way; and the group of EXLites from the British Gas processes who have been passionately assisting with setting up the school as well as teaching the students. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our Communications team for owning and championing the CSR effort at EXL and more specifically for their support in helping us identify this project and assist with the communication needs through the course of it.

- Amitabh Hajela, Vice President & Global Head - Human Resources, EXL Service.

It was a real pleasure to meet the kids again today. Their behavior and enthusiasm were extemporary - a real credit to the school and their teachers! It was evident from the look on their faces that they really enjoyed the visit. Hopefully seeing the employment opportunities that exist for well educated people will inspire them in their studies.

- Matt, British Gas, UK.
