1. Celebrations Galore
Many festivities were observed with special assemblies and culture performances by children. These included Eid Ul Fitr, World Organ Day, Major Dhyan Chand’s Birthday, Hindi Diwas, World Peace Day, Raksha Bandhan, Janamastami and Teacher’ Day.
2. OM Foundation Day
On September 9th, the School celebrated the 11th Birthday of OM Foundation with cultural programs on its premises. The Trustees of the Foundation Mr. Piyush Jaiin and Mr. Vivek Gaur were chief guests for the day. Dr. Shukla shared his thought on this occasion and motivated students to work hard to make lives better for themselves and their families. On this occasion, Vivekananda House bagged the winner’s trophy for the best house of the year 2012-13.
3. OM Students Shine at Ryan
Two students of OM Foundation School won the Inter School Drawing competition held at Ryan International School. The topic for the competition was Any festival, My Clean House.
4. Barclays Motivates the Students
Barclays organized Motivational talk for the senior students of the school. During this, Ms Reena Kaushal Dharmshaktu (a mountaineer and outdoor instructor based in Delhi) who made the historic ski-run as part of an eight-woman Kaspersky Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition which crossed a 900 kilometres Antarctic ice trek to reach the South Pole, to mark the 60th anniversary of the Commonwealth, shared her experiences and videos of the expedition and motivated the students to challenge their limitations.
5. Self Defense Workshops
Students of Class VII & VI (especially girls) participated in Self Defense classes. These classes were conducted by Shrey Prakash and his Team along with Kaajal Joshi of Mothers International School. The classes included training programs in Taekwondo, Karate and other Self Defense techniques. The aim of such programs is to enable our students to equip themselves for any unwanted situation and save themselves.
6. Community Initiatives and Student Development by Volunteers
Volunteers from the HCLT Foundation organized various community initiatives to enhance the impact of Education Program and Women Empowerment Program.
To help the students enhance their Computers and English speaking abilities along with their personality development volunteers from EXL Services, Sopra, Aon Hewitt, Barclays Shared Services and Samsung continued their activities with various workshops organized at the school.
7. Samsung Research Institute: Extra Tuitions Initiative
Samsung Research Institute joined hands to enhance the education program with OM Foundation. Focusing on Computers, Math and Science, volunteers from Samsung take classes of VII and VIII students every Friday. These classes expose students to more practical learning in Labs and supplement the teaching they receive during regular classes.
