Space travel with Barclays:
Barclays organized a day-long visit to the Nehru Planetarium Delhi for the students of class IV, V, VII and VIII along with concerned teachers on 03rd November 2012. The expedition included watching fascinating displays as well as a very enjoyable movie based on “Big Bang”. The Barclay’s team conducted a surprise on the spot quiz on banks and banking and concluded the day on a high by distributing gifts among students. OM Foundation extends special thanks to Barclays’ volunteers for providing such a wonderful exposure to the students.
Celebrating Festivals: Unity in Diversity
To foster the secular sprit among students and communities alike, various festivals were celebrated by the teachers and students of the school. These included Gandhi Jayanti, Muharram, Guru Nanak’s Birthday and Christmas Day. All occasions were marked by special prayers, decorations, performance of skits & speeches and observance of various traditions associated with each festival.
Celebrating National & International Days:
The festive spirit continued to other important occasions like World Human Rights Day, UNICEF Day and National Math’s Day. During the first two occasions, students learnt about the importance of Human Rights and the impact of UNICEF of millions across the globe. Both these days were celebrated with special morning assembly sessions and skit performances. The students celebrated National Math’s day to mark the 125th birthday of the legendry mathematician Ramanujan with skits and presentation on various aspects of this interesting but tough sounding subject.
